FOOTNOTES ON TAP has been created to honor and archive TAP LEGENDS both past and present, on film and through their biographys. Tap dancing, as it exists, is a blend of the creativity of many cultures and many different styles. We have also created a WHO'S WHO DATABASE OF THE "TAP STARS OF TODAY" plus CURRENT TAP MASTERS, with pertinent links and other infomation on these artists.
The motion picture industry and early cinema- tographers have left us a treasure chest of priceless gems. Unfortunately, some of our early Tap Legends have been hidden since the techology to preserve their work wasn't really perfected until the 1930's and 1940's. We are always on the lookout for those rare moments that provide us with a glimpse of our tap history and are constantly striving to bring you our latest finds. ENJOY - JIM TAYLOR
